Scientology Isn't About Science
I finally found out about scientology yesterday from someone who was listening to the atheist station or radio show. Apparently, a caller was once prestigious enough to know about the religion/philosophy.
It sounds like one of the biggest scams I have ever heard of. In order to get information on this particular thought or idea, one must first become a member and send members or higher ups in the religion money. From there, a member must continually send money. Well, it's a great way to prove followership and time.
Overall? Interesting idea, but it sounds very corrupt and abusing, but nothing out of the ordinary in this country. Five years, fifty followers and its perfectly legal to file, claim, and get the tax benefits of a religion. What next?
Can it be much worse than the idea of intelligent design which does not consider evolution as part of the intelligent design?
By the way, if there is no scientific method or reasoning, then keep it out of science class.
